Social Issues & Intervention Strategies with Older Adults

Catalog description

This course will provide an interdisciplinary examination of psychological and sociological issues occurring among older adults. Special topics include prescription medication misuse and abuse, depression and anxiety, and preventing suicide among older adults. An emphasis is placed on the role of the healthca re practitioner in the development, implementation and evaluation of intervention strategies.
