Catalog description

In this course, students learn the main features of the U.S. monetary and financial system, including the role of the banking and financial markets in facilitating economic growth in the long -run. The main topics covered are the history and role of money, the fractional reserve banking system, the role of the Federal Reserve System, the main determinants of interest rates, types of financial markets and institutions, and monetary policy.
