Catalog description

This course prepares the Family Nurse Practitioner student to provide for the specialized health care needs of diverse and special populations across the lifespan. Focus is on disease prevention, health promotion, chronic disease management, restorative, a nd supportive care in a variety of patient settings. Content will include management of both normal and pathological conditions addressing the psychosocial and cultural needs of the aging adult and mental health populations. Students will expand their prim ary care knowledge and further develop their skills related to health promotion, prevention of illness, diagnosis, and management of commonly experienced health problems.
