Catalog description

Part two of the two-course sequence covering principles of critical inquiry and application of evidence-based practice. An introduction to the research process as it relates to clinical practice, with special consideration of measurement theory and assessment of functional outcomes, research designs, and relevant statistical analysis. Content in this semester will focus on the application of research to clinical trials to study effectiveness of interventions, including experimental, quasi-experimental, and observational studies, and assessment of design validity. The course will also address characteristics of systematic reviews and metanalyses.
