An introduction to the foundational biomechanical and kinesiological concepts associated with normal and pathological movements of the human body. Students’ understanding will be supplemented through the study of surface anatomy (palpation). Analysis of movement and the application of principles of physics to human movement will be studied. DPTV 703: Physiology: Pathology (3 credits) Normal and pathological conditions of tissues will be presented as well as the application of this information to screen for referral in physical therapy. Normal and pathological processes common to physiological systems will be discussed as well as the impact of external and environmental stressors on the human body systems at rest and in motion. This course includes systems review, imaging integration, and concepts of tissue repair and healing as it applies to physical therapy practice.
