Catalog description

This course will examine problems and issues in special education intended to assist teachers in their understanding of students with learning disabilities, explore educational considerations and life span issues; and investigate community agencies and support services needed by students with learning disabilities. Participants will research current instructional methodologies appropriate for children and adolescents with learning disabilities in elementary, secondary and special education classrooms. Emp hasis on the analysis of classroom situations and application of theories and educational techniques to create positive learning environments for learners with mild, moderate and severe learning disabilities will be explored.
