Catalog description

This course provides students with an understanding of how a broad array of social determinants, historical factors and societal inequities contribute to and define disparities in health and health care in the U.S. We will also examine the ways in which neighborhood and community context, as well as inequalities in socioeconomic status materially shape health and access to health care services. Case studies of community and institutional strategies aimed at reducing health inequities will be explored.
