Catalog description

This course focuses on understanding common psychiatric conditions that affect people of all ages. Students will deepen their knowledge of the DSM-5-TR, learning how to identify relevant differential diagnoses. This includes using and interpreting screening tools and lab results to ensure accurate assessments that guide effective treatment for individuals at any stage of life. The course will also cover evidence-based psychotherapies, including pharmacological treatments, and appropriate therapies that promote positive outcomes. Additionally, there will be a focus on the importance of collaboration and cultural competence in treatment aimed at supporting improved patient engagement and outcomes.
