Clinical SW Prac with Substc Abuse Disorders

Catalog description

This course will introduce students to the different models available to understand and treat substance abuse and addiction. These models will be integrated into a biopsychosocial approach for practice. Skills for the beginning phase of treatment will be emphasized. These include: diagnosis and assessment, working with denial, motivational interviewing, developing a treatment plan and utilizing the different modalities of treatment.
