Catalog description

This course focuses on providing students with the foundational skills needed to work in teams to effectively collaborate and coordinate patient care, and provide consultation as a psychologist member of the health care team. Special emphasis is on inter-professional evidence-based care planning, care coordination and patient engagement, and data analytics and reporting of outcomes. Key themes focused on inter-professional communication, consultation, collaboration, leadership, and professionalism are ingrained throughout. This course is primarily designed to prepare students for professional roles as a behavioral consultant, with an emphasis on the health care system. As such, this course focuses on the dynamics of working with groups in a variety of settings and on developing effective interventions at a systemic level.
