Catalog description

This is a foundational course in psychometrics and serves as the first course in the measurement/statistics/research methodology progression. Students are introduced to fundamental principles and concepts of reliability, validity, measurement theory and psychometrics. In addition, students develop a fundamental understanding of the foundation of statistical procedures and data analysis and develop the statistical skills necessary for selection and accurate interpretation of clinical psychological measures, with an emphasis on Factor Analytic Procedures, Item Analysis, Analysis of Variance and Linear Regression. In learning statistical procedures, students also gain proficiency in SPSS. Methods of reporting results in APA style are also stressed.
