Professional And Medical Ethics
Touro University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
(FIRST SEMESTER) The class is designed to teach students how to: (a) act professionally even when you do not feel like doing it, and (b) critically read, evaluate, and apply the learning material. Therefore, to the extent possible, the course will be conducted as a seminar class - the vast majority of class time will consist of discussion, case analysis, class activity, and collaborative group work. All of these activities are geared toward engaging students as active participants in their learning by focusing their attention on critical elements, encouraging abstraction of common themes or principles, and evaluating their own progress toward understanding medical ethics and their role as professionals in medicine.
