Catalog description

Biochemistry is the study of biological systems at the chemical and molecular level. The course content will stress human biochemistry and its clinical applications. Lecture topics include the chemistry and metabolism of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins and nucleic acids as well as a discussion of enzymes, vitamins and hormones. The Biochemistry of specific tissues will be presented, and the clinical significance emphasized. Prerequisites: None
