Histology and Cell Biology

Catalog description

The course begins with a description of histological techniques. This will also help the student to understand the study of the ultrastructure (fine structure) of the cell. Once this has been completed the student will study the basic tissue types (i.e., epithelial, muscle, nervous, connective tissue, cartilage and bone), and then the various organ systems (i.e., endocrine, digestive, cardiovascular, hematologic, lymphoid, integument, respiratory system, urinary system, and male and female reproductive systems).
