Catalog description

An intense study of clinical immunology; the student will study the immune system, its cellular reactions, and antigen-antibody reactions and the body’s immune response, with a focus on the immunologic procedures and understanding of the theory and practical considerations involved in precipitation reactions, agglutination reactions, labeled immunoassays, HLA (human leukocyte antigen) identification and molecular techniques. Lecture. 2-4 hours/week, 12-week course. Letter-graded.
