Catalog description

Functional Orthopedics I is an introductory course designed to give the student a comprehensive understanding of normal mechanical function of the foot and leg. Body planes, joint dynamics and axis orientation and the structure and function of each of the major foot and ankle joints will be taught in detail. By emphasizing concept and theory the course will lay the groundwork for pathomechanics, diagnostics and management techniques which follow in later courses. Prerequisite: PCLP 611
