Physical Diagnosis Skills Lab I

Catalog description

(Only for students enrolled at the Middletown campus)This is the first part of a 2-semester course consisting of both lecture and lab. The lecture component introduces the student to the concepts and techniques of medical interviewing, obtaining an accurate history, and performing a complete and thorough physical examination. The course covers the practical terminology utilized to record a medical history and physical examination. The laboratory portion emphasized the hands-on skills necessary to perfect the techniques of the physical exam. These sessions are taught in a small-group setting by the PA faculty. Emphasis is also placed on perfecting the written history and physical/SOAP note.
