Introduction to Finance

Catalog description

This one credit, introductory course provides students with a high-level overview of the field of Finance and its relation to the business world. During the 5 modules that make up this course, students will review topics such as Financial Information and its importance to businesses, including how financial managers utilize this information in their positions. Students will also review various types of Financial Statements including Balance Sheets, Income Statements, and Cashflow Summaries. Emphasis will be placed on how businesses use these statements for financial planning. This course will allow students to become familiar with the four major categories that Capital is divided into. This five module, self paced course provides students with a limited background in Finance a platform of understanding for commonly used financial terms and statements through PowerPoint presentations, videos, and worldly articles.
