Catalog description
This course examines pretrial litigation issues in criminal cases. In studying New York Criminal Practice, you will analyze and discuss the application of the rules and principles surrounding criminal litigation. Discussions will include the principles underlying criminal litigation, pretrial motions and discovery issues with an emphasis on suppression hearings: the recovery, admission, preclusion and suppression of evidence. A primary focus will be on common hearing issues, including, but not limited to, statements and confessions, identifications, and the recovery of physical evidence.
