Catalog description
This course emphasizes practice skills in a format that combines a field placement with a weekly seminar. Students work approximately 10 hours per week for 14 weeks in private law firms, corporate law departments, government legal offices, or non-profit/public interest legal groups. Students’ responsibilities include attending court, adminisrative proceedings and business transactions; interviewing, negotiating, and counseling; and researching and drafting pleadings and memoranda. The seminar component focuses on skills training, but also provides a forum for students to discuss issues arising in their field placements.
