Catalog description

This introductory course reviews the policy and law defining and governing family relationships. The course addresses the legal relationship between the married, the unmarried, and those with children in common, the legal obligations family members owe each other, the dissolution of a marriage, and the economic obligations imposed by separation and divorce. The course also explores the legal relationship between parents and their children, including an analysis of custody, support, assisted reproduction, and adoption rights.
