Catalog description

This survey course covers the constitutional law governing criminal procedure from police investigations thru trial and sentencing, including arrests, searches, electronic eavesdropping, interrogations, lineups, and other pre-trial identification procedures, grand jury investigations, plea bargaining and selected trial practices, including jury selection, public trials, and the right to be present. It emphasizes federal constitutional law with discussion of important New York State constitutional differences.
