Catalog description

The Holocaust has an immense significance in Modern Jewish History because it consists of countless facets that raise questions of morality, religiosity, law, and situational factors that go beyond its temporality. Classroom educators can and should use literature as one educational form of grappling with these questions. This becomes even more complex and crucial as narratives in and around literature are changing. This course will explore how to teach the Holocaust via several key examples of literature that relate to the Jewish experience and to other historical experiences.
