Internship in Holocaust Education

Catalog description

Students complete a total of 200 Internship hours in Holocaust, genocide, and tolerance education, divided between study, research, and fieldwork. Over the course of the Internship course students must have experience in an educational setting including but not limited to schools, museums, etc. All internship sites will provide a mentor/supervisor to the intern who will submit an evaluation at the conclusion of the semester. Mentors/supervisors should have a master’s degree or appropriate equivalent training and a minimum of three years of work experience. Students keep time sheets of their hours, a summary of their work, and complete a culminating project. Project design, development, and presentation are components of the culminating project. An assigned Touro University faculty supervisor meets with students at their internship sites to observe and evaluate their work in the setting.
