This course explores the interplay between the Holocaust and Jewish law (Halakha), examining rabbinic responses to unprecedented moral, legal, and theological challenges during and after the Shoah. Students will analyze case studies, responsa literature, and scholarly perspectives to understand how Jewish law confronted questions of survival, faith, and justice.
