Catalog description

From its Dutch and later English colonial roots, New York City took the lead in creating a distinctive American culture, a culture marked by diversity, individualism, national destiny and religiosity. Ever since General George Washington declared that the city would one day be the “capital of a great empire,” New York City has remained loyal to its unique identity.
