Catalog description

This course will introduce students to better understanding of visual arts in the Americas, particularly in the United States. The course includes a discussion of public art in New York City and regional styles as they relate to various periods and genres in American art history. Current issues in the American and particularly New York art scene will be discussed. Museum and gallery visits may be included, as well as presentation of the material on videotapes and slide projections.
