Catalog description

This course is a comparative survey of the styles, structure and functions of Western art from the Renaissance through the 21st century, including the life and artistic style of influential artists. Art fundamentals and the principles of organization are applied to analyze artworks from antiquity to the present. The course includes lectures with slide presentations as well as visits to major museums.
