"TCAP is an outcomes-based assessment designed for Touro University teacher candidates to demonstrate theireffectiveness as professional educators. Candidates are required to write a narrative andprovide artifacts/evidence to convey their command of each standard. ThroughoutTCAP, the candidate will use the AAQEP Standards and the corresponding indicators tooffer evidence of and reflect on their development as a professional educator. The TCAPis administered as the culminating assessment in the initial programs during thecandidate’s clinical practice experience. It is administered by the field supervisor; theseare the clinical faculty who teach the Clinical Experience II course and mentor thecandidates in their student teaching.The portfolio has four sections and the provision of artifacts demonstrating the work ofthe Candidate:Section One: Selecting and Contextualizing Your ObservationSection Two: Analysis of Impact on Student Learning and Teacher EffectivenessSection Three: Developing a Communication Protocol with Parents, Guardians,and the School CommunitySection Four: Reflecting on Professional Growth as a 21st Century Educator andCommitment to Continuous Improvement"
