Catalog description

(SECOND SEMESTER) This course is intended to provide the student with insight into the foundations of immunological protection, pathogenesis and treatment of microbial-induced diseases of the human body. The course begins by examining in detail the basic mechanisms by which the immune system functions in protecting against human disease. The second half of the course focuses on the biology of common human microbial pathogens, as well as their patterns of transmission, mechanisms of pathogenesis, clinical presentations, diagnostic guidelines and appropriate therapies.
