Catalog description

A survey of pathology and internal medicine as it relates to dentistry with an emphasis on the evaluation and management of medically complex/compromised patients requiring dental treatment. Dental management of medically complex patients requires a foundational knowledge of systems pathology. Acquiring a basic understanding of systems pathology depends upon comprehension of general pathology. This course begins with topics on general pathology, proceeds through systems pathology and ends with DM of medically compromised patients.
