Catalog description
This course involves the study of the general structural features of different groups of organisms in order to illustrate the diversity of life. It consists of a survey of the animal kingdom with emphasis on diversity, evolutionary relationships, functional adaptations, and environmental interactions. Ecological aspects include the interrelationship between the organism, populations, and communities, and their environment. The relationship between form and function is emphasized. A laboratory component is included in this course.
