MU 3031. String Techniques. This course develops performance and pedagogical skills for teaching string instruments in school orchestras. Students demonstrate correct playing techniques on stringed instruments, learn to diagnose and correct common technical problems, and apply knowledge of instrument selection, equipment, tuning tendencies, and developmental strategies for beginning and advancing students. Two laboratory hours a week. Credit: Two hours.
