SPAN 4213. Spanish Linguistics. Linguistic and cultural issues in the formulation and organization of the Spanish language. Language production and its interconnections to social behavior, the role of the interlocutor, Spanish variation and change over time, and how language impacts societal beliefs. Prerequisite: SPAN 2043 or SPAN 2313 . Three lecture hours a week. Credit: Three hours.
