SPAN 3313. Foundations of Translation. Foundational theories, methods, and practices of English-to-Spanish translation and Spanish-to-English translation. Analysis of translation problems related to culture and language and the fundamentals of translating general material from different fields such as journalism, advertisement, tourism, gastronomy, health, and business. Prerequisite: SPAN 2043 or SPAN 2313 with a grade B or higher. Three lecture hours a week. Credit: Three hours.
