PSY 2513. Abnormal Psychology. (TCCN PSYC 2320) This course is designed as a study of the major mental disorders as classified in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. Course focuses on psychopathology, including anxiety and trauma-related disorders, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, substance use and gambling disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, sexual disorders, and gender dysphoria, as well as multiple perspectives on causality, methods of psychological assessment and psychotherapy, and an examination of abnormality in relationship to normal behavior. Prerequisites: PSY 1013 with a grade of C or higher. Three lecture hours a week. Credit: Three hours.
