NFS 2011. Introduction to Dietetics. This course will introduce dietetic students to the field of dietetics including history of the profession, educational preparation, roles and responsibilities of dietetic practitioners, exploration of practice settings, ethics of professional conduct, professionalism, evidence-based practice and internship program requirements. Course content may include sensitive dietetics-related material. This course is part of the degree plan for the major of BS in Nutrition (Dietetics). As with all required courses, this course is contextualized and in compliant with the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics requirements. The content prepares students for success on the Commission on Dietetic Registration Examination. One lecture hour a week. Credit: One hour.
