Introduction to the field of public health including definitions, governmental and non-governmental health agencies and organizations, epidemiology terminology, the United States healthcare system, disease classification and prevention, public health issues across the lifespan and across demographic groups, and environmental health and safety terminology. Corequisite: HS 2013 . Three lecture hours a week. Credit: Three hours.
