DH 4513. Alternative Dental Hygiene Practice. Exploration of roles of the dental hygienist as they relate to alternative practice settings and opportunities, to establish short-term and long-term personal professional goals, followed by creating and completing an in-depth experience or project aligned with goals. This required course is part of the degree plan for the major of dental hygiene. As with all required dental hygiene courses, this course is contextualized in and compliant with the Commission on Dental Accreditation requirements. The content is essential for accreditation and prepares BSDH students for success on the National Dental Hygiene Examination. (Professional Entry DH students) - RDH to BSDH non-accredited DH students: Two lecture and two laboratory hours a week. Credit: Three hours.
