DH 4442. Dental Hygiene Care for Special Needs. Systems-based approach to commonly encountered medical conditions applied in the delivery of the dental hygiene process of care, guided by evidence-based, compassionate, and patient-centered communication, including sensitive healthcare conversations, and collaboration with other health care prioviders as indicated. This required course is part of the degree plan for the major of dental hygiene. As with all required dental hygiene courses, this course is contextualized in and compliant with the Commissionon Dental Accreditation requirements. The content is essential for accreditation and prepares BSDH students for success on the National Dental Hygiene Examination. Two lecture hours a week. Credit: Two hours.
