DH 4441. Pain Management for the Dental Hygienist. Pain control using evidence-based decision-making and critical thinking; integration of pain control into the dental hygiene process of care. Including local infiltration anesthesia, and nitrous oxide. This required course is part of the degree plan for the major of dental hygiene. As with all dental hygiene courses, this course is contextualized in and compliant with the Commission on Dental Accreditation requirements. The content is essential for accreditation and prepares BSDH students for success on the National Dental Hygiene Examination. Prerequisite: DH 3512 . One lecture hour a week. Credit: One hour.
