DH 4412. Dental Hygiene III. Dental hygiene process of care for patients who present with complex needs. The emphasis is on the adolescent, geriatric, and adult patient exhibiting moderate periodontitis, providing appropriate adjunct procedures, and continued provision of competent care for patients with less complicated needs. This required course is part of the degree plan for the major of dental hygiene. As with all required dental hygiene courses, this course is contextualized in and compliant with the Commission on Dental Accreditation requirements. The content is essential for accreditation and prepares BSDH for success on the National Dental Hygiene Examination. Two lecture hours a week. Credit: Two hours.
