DH 4342. Periodontal Disease II. Comprehensive study of periodontal diseases, including risk factors, causative factors, treatment, and prognosis for advanced periodontal disease; case studies to promote critical thinking and evidence-based decision-making. This required course is part of the degree plan for the major of dental hygiene. As with all required dental hygiene courses, this course is contextualized in and compliant with the Commission on Dental Accreditation requirements. The content is essential for accreditation and prepares BSDH students for success on the National Dental Hygiene Examination. Prerequisite DH 3112 . Two lecture hours a week. Credit: Two hours.
