DH 4301. Clinical Dental Hygiene III Theory. This clinical issues course focuses on reflection related to clinical scenarios, quality assurance, and established protocols as they are integrated into the dental hygiene process of care. Emphasis is placed on the adolescent, geriatric patient, and the adult patient who exhibits moderate periodontitis, including participating in Interprofessional Collaborative activities. This required course is part of the degree plan for the major of dental hygiene. As with all required dental hygiene courses, this is contextualized and in compliance with the Commission on Dental Accreditation requirements. The content is essential for accreditation and prepares BSDH for success on the National Dental Hygiene Examination. Co-requisite: DH 4303 . One lecture hour a week. Credit: One hour.
