DH 3502. Dental Hygiene II. Dental hygiene process of care for the pediatric patient, and greater treatment needs for the patient with gingivitis and /or slight periodontitis. Dental hypersensitivity, self-assessment in the clinical environment, periodontal debridement, and medical emergencies. This required course is part of the degree plan for the major of dental hygiene. As with all required dental hygiene courses, this course is contextualized in and compliant with the Commission on Dental Accreditation. The content is essential for accreditation and prepares BSDH students for success on the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination. Two lecture hours a week. Credit: Two hours.
