Catalog description

DH 3433. Oral Radiology. Principles of X-ray production and safety factors; application and theory of proper exposure, processing, and mounting radiographs, radiographic interpretation, including recognition and identification of normal anatomic landmarks and selected pathologic conditions. This required course is part of the degree plan for the major in dental hygiene. As with all required dental hygiene courses, this course is contextualized in and compliant with the Commission on Dental Accreditation requirements. The content prepares BSDH students for success on the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination. Three lecture hours a week. Credit: Three hours.
