BIOL 1033. General Life Science I. (TCCN BIOL 1408) An introductory biology course for non-science majors covering fundamental life processes, including basic chemistry of life, cell structure and function, energy transformations, genetics, diversity of organisms, ecology, and major plant, animal, and human body systems. Emphasizes scientific reasoning and biological principles. Course for non-science majors. Satisfies three hours Life & Physical Sciences Core (30). Three lecture hours a week. Credit: Three hours.
