ART 4033. Packaging Design. Introduction to the design of product packaging from the perspectives of aesthetics, form, manufacturing processes, sustainability, and utility. Emphasis on practical tools including prototyping and creating packaging with digital fabrication tools and technical specifications that comply with commercial and governmental regulations. Study of examples of design from a variety of identities, perspectives, and cultures. May be repeated once for additional credit (up to six hours credit). Prerequisites: ART 2223 , ART 2243 , ART 2293 , and an understanding of Adobe Illustrator software. Two lecture and four studio hours a week. Credit: Three hours.
