Catalog description

This course will introduce students to the sociological study of aging, helping them better understand the sociological processes of aging throughout the life course, as well as important sociological variables that impact these processes. The course will introduce students to important demographic changes facing aging populations. Using sociological theories and methodological frameworks, students will also understand a wide range of important topics related to aging and the life course, including current trends, impacts on the family, work and retirement, socio-political and socio-economic impacts, global trends, and future directions.
