Catalog description
This course offers a foundational understanding of communication systems, covering key topics such as channel distortions, noise, and signal-to-noise ratio. Students will explore signal representation, including Fourier series and transforms, and their application in communication. The course also addresses analog and digital modulation techniques, digitization of analog signals, and principles of digital data transmission. Practical MATLAB exercises are integrated to enhance learning and apply theoretical concepts. Prerequisite: EE 325 and EE 307 or ENGR 307 .
